About Jessica
My name is Jessica Barnes, and I’m a fiction editor.
After overloading my schedule with creative writing courses in college, I was hired by WaterBrook Press, a division of Random House. There I learned the art of editing. WaterBrook Press soon became the WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group, and I was soon editing novels of my own. One of the books I edited, The Shape of Mercy by Susan Meissner, was listed as one of Publishers Weekly’s Best Books of 2008. Another project, North! Or Be Eaten by Andrew Peterson, won the 2010 Christy Award for Young Adult Novel.
After six years at WaterBrook Multnomah, life took one of its turns, and I became a freelance fiction editor.
Which means I now have the pleasure of working with you on your book.
I have a wide range of experience, having edited novels for all audiences and of all genres. So whether you’ve written a fantasy novel, a romance, a thriller, or an historical epic; whether your book is for children, teens, or adults – I’m the editor for your book.
